Exporting Your Song¶
ScratchTrack lets you export your finished song as a WAV file — either as a full stereo mix or as individual track stems.
Export Mix¶
Export all tracks mixed down to a single stereo file:
- Click the Export menu in the toolbar.
- Select Export Mix.
- Choose a save location and filename.
- ScratchTrack renders all tracks to a stereo WAV file.
The default filename is {SongName}_mix.wav.
What's Included¶
The exported mix includes:
- All unmuted tracks at their set volumes
- Solo settings are respected — if any tracks are soloed, only those are included
- Audio Unit plugin processing (effects and instruments)
- Master volume and master effects
Export Format¶
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Format | WAV |
| Bit Depth | 24-bit PCM |
| Sample Rate | 44.1 kHz |
| Channels | Stereo |
Export Individual Tracks¶

Export each track as a separate stem file:
- Click the Export menu in the toolbar.
- Select Export Track.
- Choose which track to export from the list.
- Choose a save location and filename.
The default filename is {SongName}_{TrackName}.wav.
Note
Individual track exports include that track's volume setting and any effects applied to it, but not the master effects chain.
Export Progress¶
During export, a progress indicator shows the rendering status (0–100%). Exporting happens offline (not in real time), so it completes quickly.
If an error occurs during export, an alert dialog explains the issue.
Tips¶
- Check your mix before exporting — listen through once and verify levels, mute/solo states, and effects
- Export stems for further mixing in another DAW
- Name your exports clearly — ScratchTrack suggests filenames based on your song and track names
